A common question we get when it comes to treating chronic pain is how is laser acupuncture different from traditional acupuncture?
Laser acupuncture is a form of acupuncture that uses low-level infra-red lasers instead of traditional acupuncture needles to stimulate acupuncture points on the body, similar to the way traditional acupuncture needles are inserted into specific points.
Laser acupuncture is just as effective as traditional needle acupuncture for treating a variety of conditions, including chronic pain, anxiety, and depression.
It is also a less invasive alternative to traditional acupuncture, since there are no needles involved, and more convenient as it is a faster process.
Like traditional acupuncture, laser acupuncture is based on the principles of traditional Chinese medicine – that the body has a system of energy (qi) pathways, known as meridians, that flow through the body.
When these pathways become blocked or disrupted, it can cause pain and illness – laser acupuncture, like traditional needle acupuncture, is used to stimulate acupuncture points to facilitate the free flow of energy once again.
Til next time,
